This site has no forms and sets no cookies unless you say yes to analytics. Your personal details only reach me if you contact me yourself.
Who is responsible
Robin, web designer, Vaasa, Finland. Email hello@byrobin.eu. I am the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Visiting the site
The site loads no outside fonts. Like every web host, the hosting provider keeps short technical logs (such as IP address, browser and time of visit) to deliver the site and keep it secure. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a safe website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). These logs are kept only for a short time by the host.
Analytics (only with your consent)
When you first visit, a small box asks if I may use Google Analytics. If you choose Accept, Google Analytics loads and sets cookies (_ga and _ga_…, kept for up to 2 years) so I can see how many people visit, which pages and samples they look at, roughly which country and city they come from and what device they use. I use this only to improve the site. If you choose No thanks, Google Analytics is never loaded and no cookies are set. Your choice is saved in your browser so you are not asked again.
The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of the home page. Saying no also removes the analytics cookies.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited. Google may process data in the United States; Google is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. More in Google's privacy policy.
When you contact me
If you email or message me, I use your name, contact details and what you write only to answer you and, if we agree to work together, to make and carry out that agreement (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f)). I don't sell or share your details or use them for marketing lists. I delete messages that don't lead to work within 12 months; records needed for accounting are kept as long as Finnish law requires.
WhatsApp is run by Meta, so messages sent there are also covered by WhatsApp's privacy policy.

- Object to or restrict how I use it
Email me to use any of these rights. You can also complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman at tietosuoja.fi.
Changes
If I change how the site uses data, I will update this page first.
